Amanveer Singh PathaniaMy Mobile Day Blog

Hi guys, my name is Amanveer Singh Pathania and I am a Digital Marketing Executive. As a passionate technology fan and a digital marketer I believe my phone is not just a device for me but it is also a part of my daily life routine. Do you also feel incomplete without your mobile device?? If yes, then we are in trouble my friend.

Have you ever heard of NOMOPHOBIA?

The term NOMOPHOBIA is used to describe a psychological condition when people have a fear of being detached from mobile phone connectivity. It has been labeled as a “phobia for particular/specific things”. Let’s find out what my mobile day blogs says about me.

Morning:

Every morning even before I get a chance to completely wake up, my day starts with Whatsapp. From family, friends to colleges and acquaintances, there are always so many things to catch up on when my day starts. I spend about 10 minutes in the morning going through my received messages and responding to them. Last week for the first time in a long time I noticed that whatsapp’s interface had changed. I had a group call with my friends and realized that the interface was different. I am not sure if I am a fan of his new look but hopefully like everyone else I will get used to this new look.

Noon:

And here comes what I dislike most – commuting o wherever I need to be. As an international student and being new to this place it is always hard for me to commute but my best friend in need has always been Google Maps. This true friend has been with me every step of the way. Quite literally a Google map is really a savior when I have a micro moment like I want to go. And easily it has one of the best usability models which make every journey as pleasant as possible.

Evening:

How can I not without Instagram? Whether or not I have coffee breaks or when I am done with my day, I always take Instagram breaks. In moments where I want to know, Instagram is my go to place. I am always on Instagram to the point I close the app only to open it again 2 seconds later. That really makes me wonder how much effort goes into delivering the best user experience there is.

Night:

Before going to bed I need to cook. After finding new recipes on YouTube, I start cooking. Around 8:30 PM I have my dinner while watching Roman Empire on Netflix.

Bed Time:

Every night before going to bed I Whatsapp my parents in India and we share how our day went and I really want to thanks technology which made it so continent for an international student like me to stay in touch with my family even though they live in the other end of the world.

My Top Six Mobile Applications

Based on my mobile day-in-the-life, my top five most-used apps are YouTube, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, Whatsapp and Amazon. Speaking about the motives:

  • I want to know motivates me to use YouTube.
  • I want to shop motivates me to use Amazon.
  • I want to connect motivates me to use social apps like Whatsapp and Instagram.
  • I want to go motivates me to use Google Maps.
  • I want to Relax motivates me to use Netflix, YouTube and Instagram.

If I talk about my experiences with above mentioned application I don’t think I have been though mobile friction. I believe I have not faced anything like that will all theses application. Which explains why these applications are my favorite and how good users experience it have.

As a Digital marketing the lesson which I derived out this is that you should always know what your customers or users are looking for. One should focus on customer centricity, being agile so that you can be up to date with the customer requirement and trends. One should try to provide best and easy way for its user to reach out customer care.
